Debated whether or not to stick this in Scraps, but eh. It looks kinda cool, especially considering the lineart was hand-drawn.

Toying with Captain Haddock's character. Like all good comic reliefs he's equally tragic as he is funny. Going by what a boisterous and big-hearted old salt he is, there must have been some trauma in his past that got him on the drink. As much as I love Tintin, most of the time I find myself identifying with the Captain instead.

Obviously insipred by the poster for the Broadway stage show of "Beauty and the Beast".

And no, I am NOT suggesting that Marlinspike Hall is full of enchanted talking objects (Although, knowing Professor Calculus and his little inventions...)

EDIT: Changed the text. Mostly because I enjoy puns. =P

Haddock is (c) Herge, Beauty & the Beast is (c) Disney.

Nice and deep, LadyKeane. I like Tintin too. The show is still one of my favorites.

Did you ever read the original comic books? The artwork is surprisingly rich and beautiful for such a simple style. Also, the pacing of the stories changes from book to TV, there are some things in the original that you just don't get with the animated version. :)

Captain Haddock has always been a fascinating character for me. When Tintin first meets the Captain (I think it was in "The Crab With The Golden Claws" adventure) he is a pathetic drunk who seems to be drowning his troubles in alcohol. One does wonder how he got to be that way.
I remember TinTin...and this is very well-done. The outline is so smooth, and the quote is just beautiful. I have to listen to that song when I get the chance. =)

I have read the only comic book I have. "Tintin: Destination Moon". Unfortunately I haven't seen the episode on TV (I've always somehow missed it). I agree the artwork is rich and beautiful, considering it looks so simple.

Even though I don't remember him, this is definally a very emotional piece here. You did great on the outlines, and the lyrics are a very nice touch. ^_^ This really shows some of his emotional pain very well. And the white outlines on black is a very interesting concept, as well.

Really striking lineart. I like the contrast with the almost free-slowing brushtrokes of the white against the black. Yes, I'm familiar with the original poster too. Good inspiration piece.
Dawww! Someone is finally examining Archie! <3 I need to get some of my Haddock/Tintin pics up, speaking of which... (Yes, it's an odd pairing. bite me.)
